Christmas Program – Friday, December 20th, 2:15PM:
You are invited to the annual Children’s Christmas Program on December 20th. Our students have been hard at work practicing their songs, recitations, and creating artwork to share the true meaning of Christmas with you. This year’s program is entitled “Do Not Be Afraid; I Bring You Good News” and focuses on how our Savior Jesus has overcome all of our fears.
Doors will open for guests at 1:45PM with the program starting promptly at 2:15PM. After the program, students will exit to their classrooms, pack up, and dismiss at their normal locations. Please, allow extra time and patience for dismissal as their will be many extra visitors. There will be no extended care available after school.
Christmas Spirit Dress Up Days
Show your Christmas Spirit next week. On Thursday, December 19th, students in K3-8 can wear anything Christmas related. Please, no slippers. Students may be asked to remove novelty items if they become a distraction to the learning environment. On Friday, December 20th, students are invited to dress up in their best Christmas attire to coincide with the program.
Grade 7 Social Studies Spotlight – Mr. Kroll
In Modern American History the 7th graders learned about the rise and decline of vaudeville entertainment in the early 20th century. The students watched a video of the popular comedic group the Marx Brothers who got their start as vaudeville performers. Despite the differences from today’s entertainment, the students were very engaged, laughing at the jokes and afterwards asked where they could find more films from this genre. Overall, it was a pleasure to entertain students with the same entertainment that their great-grandparents would have enjoyed.
Holiday Season Worship Invitation
During the Christmas season there are many opportunities to come closer to God. Advent services are scheduled for Wednesday December 11th and 18th at 6:00PM with supper served in the cafeteria beforehand at 5:00PM. Christmas Eve worship is on December 24th at 6:00PM. Christmas Day worship is at 9:00AM and New Year’s Eve worship is at 6:00PM on December 31st.
