Nate Bauer

Congratulations to Our Volleyball Champions

The girls A and B teams both won their conference tournaments and showed great sportsmanship throughout the season.  Thank you to all the parents for your support this year.  Way to go girls!

Grade 8 Classroom Spotlight – Mrs. Kroll

In 8th Grade ELA, we are wrapping up our first unit by writing our own stories. Students are tasked with writing a suspenseful narrative. From crafting engaging beginnings, creating conflict and well-rounded characters, and satisfying readers with strong endings, students are putting their grammar skills to use. Enjoy a few opening lines from our 8th grade authors:

“History shows that every time a person goes into the daycare they never come back out.” (Rhyane C.)

“Eight young adults celebrating and having a blast on a little vacation in the mountains. What could go wrong with a friendly gathering?” (Josiah Y.)

“Aren’t friends supposed to tell each other almost everything?” (Taylor C.)

“This was the night where you could make a wish on the shooting star that was predicted to pass through. Oh, but Maisy didn’t wish for just anything. No. She closed her eyes and let the lukewarm breeze hit her face as she smiled and folded her hands.” (Veronica S.)

Grade 1 Classroom Spotlight - Ms. Bryant

The 1st Grade classroom had their very first Show and Tell, it was an unforgettable experience! The excitement in the room was contagious as each student took turns proudly sharing their special items with the class. From favorite toys to talents, the students were eager to tell the stories behind their objects, and it was incredible to see them gain confidence as they spoke in front of their peers. Not only did this activity encourage speaking and listening skills, but it also fostered a sense of community, as the children learned more about each other. We can't wait to see how these presentation skills will continue to grow throughout the school year!

Operation Christmas Child

Each year Garden Homes gives students the chance to practice Christ-like leadership through servant leader projects.  This year we will be participating in the Operation Christmas Child gift drive.  Students collect gifts and pack shoeboxes that will be sent to children in developing countries all over the world along with a message about the true meaning of Christmas.  Look for more information to come on how you can help.
